Why you should follow this course
Subject persons are required to understand and comply with the obligations set out within the
local anti-money laundering and counter funding of terrorism (AML/CFT) regulatory framework.
This training course is an introduction into the world of AML/CFT and includes highlights
of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (Cap. 373 of the Laws of Malta) (PMLA) as
well as an outline of the requirements set out in the Prevention of Money Laundering
and Funding of Terrorism Regulations (LN 180 of 2008) (PMLFTR), thus placing
followees in a position to interpret the obligations set out in our local
Understanding the local AML/CFT regulatory framework
Understanding the requirements emanating from the PMLFTR such as customer due diligence (CDD)
Understanding the application of the Implementing Procedures issued by the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit in terms of the provisions of the PMLFTR
Note some of the main differences between relevant International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and
GAPSE in relation to the above subject matters.
